A special place to go to in the Cameron Highlands is Mt Brinchang and the mossy forest. The mountain is located at 2000 meters high and the forest would be 200 million years old, making it the oldest forest in the world. It use to be possible to walk around the mossy underground but nowadays there’s a wooden pathway that you should follow to preserve the forest.
There’s a very special trail that you could do here called the Jim Thompson trail. Story goes that he got lost in the forest, not to be seen again. Unfortunately this trail is only accessible for hotel guests of the resort nearby.
