The Midsundtrappene are a series of stone pathways that have been built by Nepalese Sherpas on the island of Midsund, allowing for relatively easy access to several of the island's peaks. With 2212 steps, the trail to the Rørsethornet peak, is the longest and probably the best known.
Don't be deterred if it's a seemingly cloudy day - even though we climbed through thick fog for most of the way, eventually we broke through the clouds and were treated with one of the most fantastic views over both mountains and sea.
Once you've reached the end of the stone steps, I highly recommend continuing to the Ræstadhornet peak. The narrow path on the mountain ridge kind of felt like walking on a dragon's spine and really made for one of my favorite (and most surprising) hikes in Norway!
