Nestled in the Tian Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan, located in the Kok-Kiya Valley, you can find the most beautiful lake I might have ever seen: Kel Suu Lake (or Köl Suu). One thing is for sure, you will be rewarded with a great adventure and breathtaking scenery when you decide to visit Kel Suu Lake. Firstly, this remote alpine lake has the brightest turquoise water and is surrounded by dramatic cliffs and mountains. Secondly, similar to Kyrgyzstan in general, you won’t have to share your experience with many other travellers. When we visited the lake, we were the only tourists there. Lastly, the route from the Kok-Kiya Valley to the lake, which can be done horse back riding or hiking, is stunning as well.
