On your way from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund, two colorful signs on both side of the road, mark the crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn. The Tropic of Capricorn is one of the five major circles of latitude that runs parallel to the equator and it is the southernmost latitude. It passes through a number of countries including Argentina, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, and Paraguay. In Nambia, it’s located on the C14, approximately 1 hour after passing through Solitaire en route to Walvis Bay. The signs are a popular photo spot on the drive through the Namibian desert.
