We chose the thrill of a scooter ride up the winding, sometimes tricky path. But as we neared the ticket office, glimpses of the majestic Mount Agung peeped through already. This meant we were heading the right way!
When we arrived at the top (after buying our tickets), we couldn't believe our eyes. On your left side, you can see the beautiful Mount Agung which feels surprisingly close. Almost as if we could touch it! On the right side you'll see sea (😉) everywhere. If watching a magical sunrise is why you're here, stick to the right side of the mountain and watch the ball of fire pop up from behind the water.
However, what we recommend you do is the complete opposite! You should definitely stick to your left and focus on Mount Agung. Before the sun's up, you'll already have a pretty good view and setting of the mountain behind the valley. But, once the sun starts rising, you'll see the colors of the mountain change in such a beautiful way! Take place on one of the platforms in the trees, and just enjoy the views. It's hands down the most amazing sunrise we've ever seen, and it is well worth the drive from anywhere in Bali!
