We spent the day taking our car (the Mazda MX30 R-EV) from Reykavik to an abandoned peninsula and back. It took us about 550km but most of all: we got treated to amazing views.
This isn't the famous (and more busy) route that all tourists do and that's what I loved about it. After every turn, you'll see a different landscape that you will only share with some local sheep and horses. Simply amazing.
