A scooter trip to the Kuang Si waterfall is on the agenda. Four scooters and a pleasant group of people, what more could one want? We speed along beautiful roads to the waterfall about an hour away.
An electric vehicle takes us to the park entrance, where we first pass by Asian brown bears. It's a double-edged story, but the bears were supposedly rescued from hunting and placed in this sanctuary that the NGO received from the Laotian government in 2004. It's a very small area, but the alternative isn't much better... and it feels like they're really doing what they can to make it better for the bears.
After that, we walk a short distance to the waterfall. It consists of multiple levels where swimming is also possible. The waterfall is truly unique with its various tiers and crystal-clear water. It is exactly the kind we love to see.
