Nestled in Thailand's Erawan National Park, Erawan Falls is a captivating natural wonder comprising seven tiers of turquoise pools. Begin your journey at the visitor center, where you can dip your toes in the first pool and enjoy a unique fish spa experience. Because this pool is so out in the open, the water here is really beautiful and so clear! If all you’re after is a relaxing day in a natural pool, you can spend the day here. For the more adventurous visitors, we do suggest you keep walking, though. ;-) Do know that there are gentle uphill climbs after this point!
Our favorite tiers include Wang Nam Tok (2nd pool), Pha Nam Tok (3rd pool), and Buar Mai Long (5th pool), each boasting a different quality. From crystal-clear waters to cascading waterfalls, all of these pools offer their own charm. But the question must be asked, is it worth it to hike to the 7th fall? Our answer: it depends. While the hike to the seventh pool surely will make you feel energized, it's best suited for those seeking exercise rather than exceptional pools. If you want a relaxing pool that you can swim in, don’t bother walking all the way up.
To avoid the crowds, arrive early at the park's 8 AM opening time. By beating the tourist rush, you'll most likely have some pools all to yourself. Admission is priced at 300 baht per person (approximately € 8), and a nominal fee if you visit with your own vehicle (like a scooter).
