In the Nakasongola region you will find Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the proud home of the only wild so-called ''white'' rhinos in Uganda. 🦏 Ziwa is a safe(r) place where the rhino population can be expanded by protecting them from poaching and predators and promoting reproduction. Thus, the rhinos are monitored 24/7 by trained rangers. Although you'll find mostly rhinos in Ziwa, you'll also spot a wide variety of bird species and other wildlife here. Dor example, the very rare shoebill bird! With your visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you contribute to the conservation of this rare species.
