Located near the village of Apuan in the Bangli Regency, Tibumana Waterfall is the perfect spot for anyone looking to escape the crowds and experience a quieter side of Bali. The drive here is an adventure in itself: you’ll pass charming villages, vibrant rice terraces, and a palm tree-lined road before reaching the trailhead. The road here alone is worth the 30-minute ride from Ubud!
From there, it’s an easy 15-minute walk down some stairs to reach the falls. When you finally reach Tibumana, you’ll be greeted by a single but elegant cascade of water plunging into a clear pool below. Bonus points if you’re visiting in the wet season, as they transform the falls into a stunning twin cascade! Behind the waterfall’s curtain lies a hidden cave, just what we needed for that extra touch of mystery ;-)
What makes Tibumana truly special, though, is its calm and peaceful setting. Everywhere you look around, you’ll see towering trees, and the sounds you’ll hear are those of untouched nature. It’s such a nice place! Those who want to cool off will be happy to learn that you’re free to take a dip in the natural pool.
