Musk ox safari at Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park

Did you know Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park is one of just a few places in the world where you can still see musk ox in the wild? With a population of about 250 animals, you can try your luck to spot them on your own. However, it's recommended to go on a guided tour for a guaranteed sighting.
We didn't want to miss out, so we decided to go with a guide with around 20 other wildlife enthusiasts. Thanks to the guide's expert eye and knowledge of the area, we were able to spot two female oxen grazing near the river and watched them for hours. It's pretty surreal to realise these primeval animals used to live side by side with mammoths.
