The Christlessee in Oberstdorf (Germany) is in one word: wunderbar. The crystal clear water and surrounding mountains make this hidden lake a magical place. In winter, this lake never gets frozen, even with -30 degrees. During summer the water is also too cold to take a dip.
We’ve started this 12 km hike at the Freibergsee Parkplatz near Oberstdorf. The road to the lake is the same as the way back. After reaching the lake, you can choose to walk a bit further to a small village to enjoy a coffee or a snack at Berggasthof Spielmannsau.
