For our very first safari experience ever we headed out to Pongola Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Right in the middle of this game reserve you can find the boutique glamping tents of AfriCamps.
The ride from the gate to the camp takes you on a self-drive safari of 45 minutes. Arrived at the camp we received the keys to our tent (n° 7). Right in front of our deck was a little water hole where almost every 10 minutes another animal came for a drink.
Our tent had all the luxury you expect from a holiday home: a spacious living room, a full equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, airconditioning, a bathroom including a shower and a toilet and outside we had a gigantic deck with a BBQ and hot tub!
In the morning and the afternoon you could book some activities via White Elephant Safaris. Our eagle eyed ranger 'Sipo' took us on 3 safaris (1 boat safari & 2 game drives) during our stay. We had the best time and spotted 3 of the Big 5 and many more incredible wildlife in their natural environment.
