Looking for the rainbow mountain in the Icelandic Highlands
Landmannalaugar is a wonderland of rainbow-colored mountains, black lava fields and hot springs. It's located in the Fjallabak Nature Park in the middle of the highlands of Iceland.
Driving a good 4x4 car is recommended because the road is rough and you have to cross a few rivers as well. It doesn´t sound very charming driving a bumpy road but you wont be disappointed when you reach your destination and you will forget about the road while driving.
Landmannalaugar region is a great place both for exploring, photographing and hiking. It's the hikers and photographers paradise in every way. Everyone can indulge themselves, you can do multi-day hikes, or a nice daytrip where you have a beautiful view over the Rainbow Mountain. After the effort, there is a cool natural hot pool/river where you can rest and relax.
